Subhas Ch. Bose Centenary College, Lalbagh, Murshidabad was established on 12th August, 1998 as a co-educational institution with a view to catering to the academic needs of Higher education for the students of the sub divisional town, Murshidabad with its vast adjoining region.
Library:Subhas Ch. Bose Centenary College Library started with only a few hundred Texts in 1998. In July 2003 it had only 532 books (Text & Reference). But in the last 6-7 years its growth and development have been very healthy. Now it possesses more than 14 thousand Text and Reference books. In scores of tall and massive selves and almirahs, this stock is housed in 1500 sq ft. area. Book records are maintained by the office through computer. At present sitting arrangement of the students for reading purpose is more than sixty. Computer facility for the students regarding any search of books will be provided very soon. Besides books, our Library keeps important magazine, booklets, University question papers and syllabus neatly compiled and bound.
Hostel Facility
The college has separate common rooms for Boys & Girls. These are furnished with carom Board, Table Tennis and other indoor games materials. During off periods, students can have relaxation and healthy, physical and mental respites. It is also a new addition besides the common room a Gymnasium has made for the regular bonafied student.
