North-Eastern Hill University, Department of English was established in 1996
The department is well equipped with state of the art multimedia equipment including LCD projectors, Wi-Fi sound equipment, digital video recording facilities including a Film Library which has in its collection most of the film adaptations of the prescribed texts, other significant foreign and Indian films as well as the Complete Shakespeare Series in VCD/DVD format. The library is being continuously upgraded by adding new titles to its holding.
