A health club with modern amenities functions under the auspices of the department of Physical Education from the academic year 2011-12. Health Club, Cricket Ground, Volleyball Court, Basketball Court etc are also available.

Students of Government College Kottayam are eligible to avail various scholarships awarded by State and Central Governments such as Post Matric Scholarship, Central Sector Scholarship, State Merit Scholarship etc. Details of all scholarships are available at the DCE Scholarship website. All eligible students can also avail fee concessions and stipends as per government norms.
The Career Guidance and Placement Cell coordinates the placement and career guidance activities of various departments. The cell conducts recruitment drives for students in collaboration with industry/other institutions. The cell also conducts career guidance seminars and workshops for students.
