Centre for Bioinformatics Studies, is only the centre providing M.Sc Bioinformatics,PhD Bioinformatics Course in entire North East India. The centre was established in 17th August , 2007 in Joint academic collaboration with RMRC-ICMR(Indian Council of Medical Research) and NEIST,Jorhat (Formerly RRL,Jorhat).The Centre has good academic relationship with various Research and Educational institutions like Bose Institute, Kolkata, SCF Bio, IIT Delhi, Assam Agricultural University etc.
The Centre has well furnished class rooms LCD Projectors ,Laptops and OHPs for Class Room Demonstration.Centre has its own library apart from Central Library. Dry Laboratory Practical is done in the Centre’s Laboratory and Wet Laboratory Practical is Conducted under the supervision of Sr. Scientists of RMRC-ICMR,Lahoal.Central Library is equipped with more than 2 Lacs title and various journals and conference proceedings. Where as departmental library has more than 200 titles on the subject. Departmental library is now supported by UGC Funding apart from Centre’s own funding. So the departmental library will be prospering in new future.
