School of Information Technology (SIT) established in the year 2001 and renamed as School of Computational and Integrative Sciences (SCIS) in 2010, the School carries out teaching and research in the inter-disciplinary areas of computational genomics, bioinformatics & drug discovery, database management & systems biology, high performance computing and artificial intelligence. The aim of the School is to innovate and integrate computational and analytical approaches adopted in different branches of sciences to find solutions.

Integrated M.Sc - Ph.D in Computational and Integrative Sciences | Ph.D. Computational Biology and Bioinformatics

1 .	Integrated M.Sc - Ph.D in Computational and Integrative Sciences
	Eligibility A minimum of 55% marks in Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Basic and Applied Sciences or Technology, including medicine and engineering disciplines.
	Duration M.Sc 2 years + Ph.D 4 years
	Admission Procedure Candidates would be selected through a combined JNU entrance examination. There will be a compulsory section in the entrance examination to test mathematical aptitude at the 10+2 level.

	Other Details The course work leading to the award of a M.Sc. in Computational and Integrative Sciences shall be for a period of four semesters (two monsoon and two winter semesters) with a compulsory requirement for submission of a research-based dissertation at the end of the fourth semester. A student who successfully completes the first two years of the M.Sc.-Ph.D. integrated program (M.Sc. phase) with a CGPA of 4.0 and above would be awarded a M.Sc. degree. A student desirous of continuing to the Ph.D. program in Complex Systems or Computational Biology will be eligible for enrollment in the Ph.D. program provided he/she has secured a minimum CGPA of 6.5 in the M.Sc. (CGPA 6.0 in case of SC/ST candidates). The eligible students will be offered provisional Ph.D. admission. The students continuing for the Ph.D. program would be further required to undergo course work for one (monsoon) semester. The total duration of the integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. program would be 2+4 years.
