National Institute of electronic & Information Technology (formerly RIELIT), Kohima is a national level technical institute set up in the year 2004, a unit of NIELIT (formerly DOEACC) an autonomous scientific body of Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Govt. of India).
Library:NIELIT Kohima Library has more than 3000 volumes of books on Computer, Electronics and allied fields. All the books prescribed for all courses offered at the center are available in the library. Students can borrow 3-4 books at a time. Library Catalogue and Issue / receipt operation of books are computerised using in-house software called “Library Management System”.
Computer labs:There are 5 nos. of General Computer labs at present. Each lab has capacity of 20 students. The platform environment working with PC’s at these labs are Windows XP, Windows Vista & Windows 7. All the labs are well furnished and equipped with Projection System, Good quality Computer Tables& Chairs. All the computers in the labs work on legal software like Microsoft Office, Visual Studio 2005, Oracle Client etc. besides programming languages and other application s/w tools. The PC’s in these labs can share resources among each other and has access to Intranet resource& Internet.
