Savitribai Phule Pune University : Department of Communication Studies

Department of Communication Studies in Savitribai Phule Pune University was established in July 1990. It was one of the first universities in India to recognize that academic training in Communication means much more than mass communication in general and journalism in particular. The single, most important aspect that makes this course stand apart from the other communication courses in the country is the close linkage between the technical and academic areas of its work, thus facilitating a synergy between research, teaching and production.
