The Department of Virus Research (DVR), Manipal is a centre for diagnostic virology and research activities. It is the regional reference laboratory for Influenza viruses and an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Grade I Virus Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) supported by the Department of Health Research (DHR) and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), Government of India (GOI).
