The Buddha College of Teacher Education, Muthukulam, Alappuzha, Kerala started functioning under T.K. Divakaran Memorial Charitable Educational Trust in 2005. The forerunner of the Trust, K.V. Sanskrit Higher Secondary School, Muthukulam, has a long tradition of about 85 years in imparting education, especially in the oriental language - Sanskrit- in the Tsunami hit coastal belt of Alappuzha District. The Buddha College of Teacher Education is an explorer and discoverer in teacher education, able to lead this backward, remote coastal area to pursue the new world of knowledge. This college is striving something else, something novel or original, capable of making possible the prospective teachers as agents of social reformation and social change. Buddha College of Teacher education has been imparting quality education with an aim to promote a global perspective and there by help teachers to be an embodiment of efficiency, expertise and creativity. This college has been in the forefront in empowering the rural coastal folk with adequate competency in transacting pedagogy into a creative mode.
