Sree Narayana College, Chengannur is a major centre for higher education offering educational opportunities to the rural community. The College is named after the great saint and social reformer Sree Narayana Guru. It stands as a monument that reminds us of the great doctrines of the Guru. The basic objective of the institution is to provide education to the marginalised section of the society. The college started functioning in 1981, and is a young growing college offering four under graduate courses and two post graduate courses. KANNANPARAMPIL KUNJACHAN MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT
An endowment is instituted by Sri.K.N.Karunakaran in the name of his beloved father Sri Kunjachan, Knnamparampil, Neduvaramcode. The interest on the endowment is awarded to the student who secures the first place in arts, science and commerce at the degree level in the University Examination.
SRI. V.K.JOHN MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT
An endowment has been instituted in memory of the late Sri. V.K John, Head of the Department of Physical Education, who expired in July 97. To commemorate the service rendered by Sri V.K.John, the endowment is instituted jointly by his wife Smt.Annie John and the staff and students of the college. An amount of Rs.20,000/- is deposited for the purpose and from the accrued interest three cash awards are given annually to:
1. The best N.C.C cadet
2. Athletic Champion (Men)
3. Athletic Champion (Women)
SCHOLARSHIP
As per Kumara Pillai Commission Report, forward community students are also eligible for education concessions provided the annual income from all sources of their parents does not exceed Rs.42000/- for P.G. Classes and Rs.25,000 for Degree Classes students who secure 45% or more marks at the respective qualifying examination and pass at the first appearance are eligible for unified fee concession subject to the income limit specified. Students securing not less than 50% marks in the qualifying examination are eligible for Kerala State Scholarship subject to income limits specified.
