This is a one of the many higher educational institutions managed by Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. The college was established in 1964 at Anchal, Kollam district in Kerala, India. The College is affiliated to the university of Kerala and accords primacy to education, as enshrined in its motto, Let your light shine before men. It is one of the Malankara Syrian Catholic colleges established and administered by the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum in accordance with the rights of the minority community guaranteed in the constitution of India. This estimated centre of learning is the fruit of the vision and far sightedness of late Archbishop Benedict Mar Gregorios and currently flourishing under the patronage of Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis. Ever since its inception St John’s College, Anchal is championing the cause of learning and total development of the region. The college had been accredited at B+ grade by NAAC in 2005. St John’s College had its second cycle of NAAC Re-accreditation visit in March 2015, and it was re-accredited with A grade.
