The 1959 was the significant year when this prominent college came into its existence by the meticulous efforts of the great social reformer Lala Halajrilal Verma, who had in his mind a deep-rooted earnest vision about education as a base of knowledge to develop the skills and build the capacities of Individuals and communities for improving the quality of life and opportunity for progress.
Because of this visionary mission, while the number of students at the time of its coming into being was 152, it continuously went on increasing every year with a result that it has now reached over 4000. Hence, the institute at now is serving its best to the spread of education to the all round development of students coming from all walks of life.
The college with its panoramic surroundings is situated in the heart of the city on the left bank of the river Yamuna. It is found on the junction of NR on Delhi – Howrah rout. The NH2 (AH1) passes through the city at its north. It well serves the youth coming from the rural and ravine regions quenching to the fullest their thirst for knowledge.
The college has produced from time to time the top ranking multi talented students of great genius touching the highest pinnacle of their life; be it the political field, the administrative field or any other field of life.
