The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) has been established by an Act of the Parliament (No. 3 of 2009) at Kalaburagi, Karnataka.
The University has 654 acres campus, situated near Kadaganchi village in the district of Kalaburagi, Karnataka State (30 km from Kalaburagi city towards Solapur). It is claimed that CUK is the first Central University to move to its permanent campus in a short time among the new ones. The main objective of the University is integrating the components of Teaching, Research, Innovation, Training and Skill Development (TRI-TSD) with an aspiration to excel in dual degree, post graduate and doctoral programs. The University offers the programs in following five dominant areas: Arts, Humanities, Management, Sciences, and Engineering. Currently the University is running 16 Departments spread in 8 Schools and 1 Centre, and offering 9 Dual degree programs, 15 Master degree programs, 16 Research (PhD) programs.
Computer Centre:The Computer Centre caters to the needs of different academic departments and various sections of the University. The mission of Computer Center at CUK is to create and maintain IT environment for the pursuit of academic excellence.
Cultural Activities:
The University and student Council organize Student Sport and Cultural Fest (ANKUR) once in a year. The students also participate in various state and national level sport and cultural activity.
Health Care Facility:The health care of all the students, faculty members and non-teaching staff of the University is ensured by a regular senior doctor and a lady doctor available on the campus with supporting staff of lab technician and nurse. Facilities like In-patient ward (02); IV drip facility, blood test, urine test, and blood pressure test are available. For emergency services, there is a 24x7 ambulance facility available on the campus.
Bank:The university has dedicated banking facility within the campus provided by Canara Bank, which is operating in a independent building. The bank has opened two ATM centres within the University campus, one near the bank another one near administration block. The bank provides some the facilities like savings account, RD account, student loan facility, laptop loan facility and health insurance in association with Apollo.
Post Office Facility:The India Post has established the post office in the University campus. The CUK has gained its own identity in the geographical map of India by the pincode 585367. The CUK post office provides all normal services which are available everywhere like: Saving Bank, RD Accts, Speed Post, Regd Post, eMO, iMO, PLI/RPLI, IMT, MO Videsh, ePayment, and Postal Orders/ NSC/KVP. For Students, the Post Office is offering following useful services specially: Saving Bank (with Cheque Book and ATM card facility), Recurring Deposit Accounts (with minimum of Rs. 50), Philately (King of hobbies), Post crossing (special cards), and ePost.
Guest House:
The University Campus has a well-furnished Guest House situated opposite to Vice Chancellor residence which will be available soon to occupy.It has about 39 Guest rooms and a dining hall for the guests visiting the University.
Hostel Facility
The university has altogether two spacious and well-furnished separate hostels for both boys and girls within the campus.
