The college started functioning during the academic year 2010-11. It is run by Sree Narayana Guru Trust constituted by the SNDP Yogam, Kottayam Union.
GISAT offers B.Tech Degree programme in five branches of engineering; viz, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering. The intake in each branch is 60. Engineering diploma holders are admitted to the third semester of the B.Tech course under the lateral entry scheme.We started Master of Technology courses during 2014-15 in the following disciplines viz. 1. Communication Engg. and 2. Computer Science with Cyber Security.
G I S A T is located in a beautiful landscape of 12 acres at Vennimala, about 10 km east of Kottayam town.
The main objective of GISAT central library is to serve the academic needs of all students and faculty members. As a center for information repository a good collection of books & journals in S & T are acquire, organize and disseminate for the purpose of study and teaching. It has a seating capacity of 150 clientele and provides information in a serene setting. It has a growing collection 8000 volumes 2245 titles. DDC Classification Scheme is used to organize subjects. Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules are used for creating book database in GRANDHASOFT Software. Automatic circulation system is used in the library. A good collection of CD-ROMs are maintained as part of the digital library and a good number of full-text Online Journals can be accessed through E-Journal consortium. Wi-Fi enabled E-journals search facility is also provided to improve the R&D standard for faculty.
A fleet of buses are plying from far flung areas of Kottayam and nearby districts for the convenience of students.
The Food Court at GISAT campus provides with variety of delicious food items including Snacks, Juices, Soft Drinks etc.
Hostel Facility
Our Hostel is a walled campus with a single entry and 24-hour security is being deployed to ensure complete safety for all residents.Students who are admitted to the hostels are provided food in the mess. In Campus Girls Hostel at the top of beautiful Vennimala Hill can accommodate more than 100 students and Boys are facilitated with an Out Campus Hostel very close to GISAT campus.
