National College for Teacher Education was crystallized in form and substance in the year 2005. The college is located at Meprathupady, a beautiful suburb in the Taluk of Kunnathunad on the Perumbavoor - Kolenchery road. The college is seven kilometers away from Perumbavoor Town and is within easy reach, as a number of K.S.R.T.C and private buses regularly ply the route. The college also provides hostel facility. The nearest railway station is at Alwaye, which is only twenty five kilometers from the college.

There is a well equipped computer laboratory to provide lessons in computer to students.

The college has set up well-equipped laboratories for Educational, Technology,Psychology, Physical Science and Natural Science. Here students are provided with opportunities to do practical work under the expert guidance.

All students are expected to make the best use of the college library and the reading room and must maintain a record of their work. The library satisfies the teaching and research needs of the college. The collection includes 3402 books, 23 journals, 10 periodicals including educational and international journals and 5 newspapers. Our reference collection includes Educational Encyclopedias, Encyclopedia of Educational Research etc.
