Must have passed any one of the following examinations with 45% or more marks in aggregate with music as one of the subjects:
(a) Senior School Certificate Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi
(b) Indian School Certificate Examination of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi
(c) Intermediate examination of the Indian universities/boards recognised by the University of Delhi
(d) Any other examination as equivalent to recognised by the University of Delhi
Selection is made on the basis of practical test
a) The candidate seeking admission to the first year of Sangeet Shiromani Diploma course in Music must have undergone training in music for three years or have attained minimum standard equivalent to B.A and the candidate will be required to appear for a practical test.
(b) Candidates who have passed the B.A with music from Delhi University or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto but have failed to secure the requisite percentage for admission to M.A course in music would be considered for direct admission to 2nd year class of two year Sangeet Shiromani Diploma course on individual merit subject to fulfillment of other requirements including performance at the practical test.
(c) Candidates including foreigners possessing previous experience in Indian music & holding a certificate from a recognised institution would also be considered for direct admission to 2nd year class of the two year Sangeet Shiromani Diploma course on individual merit subject to fulfillment of other requirements including the performance at the practical test.
55% marks in aggregate in Any Master’s Degree examination of the University of Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with atleast two papers in Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Statistics/ Operational Research at graduation/ higher level. OR
55% marks in aggregate in any Bachelor’s Degree examination under 10+2+3 scheme of examination of the University of Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with atleast two papers in Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Operational Research/ Statistics.

Candidates should have good academic record with first or high second class Master's Degree or an equivalent degree. Minimum marks requirement shall not apply in case of teachers of the University of Delhi or other universities/affiliated colleges.
B.Sc. (Hons.) Anthropology/B.A.(H) in one of the following subject from Delhi University or from any other University whose examinations are recognized as equivalent to Delhi University and fulfil other eligibility conditions are required to have 50% or above marks in aggregate & 50% or above marks in the main subject
B.Sc.Geology from Delhi University or any other University whose Examination is recognized by the University of Delhi as equivalent and fulfil other conditions of eligibility. 50% or above marks in aggregate & 50% or above marks in Geology
Bachelor's degree with Physics as a subject for at least two years/four semesters
and Mathematics for at least one year/two semesters.At least 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grade for General category
candidates. Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility conditions will be
allowed to candidates belonging to all reserved categories.
