The St. James’ Hospital Trust Pharmaceutical Research Centre (SJHTPRC)approved by DSIR,New Delhi, is committed to R&D activities in the field of Pharmaceuticals to become a centre of excellence. The SJCOPS is the only pharmacy college under Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) having Dept. of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) certification from the Ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi. The SJHTPRC had technology transfers with pharmaceutical industries and also completed the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) Funded Project. SJCOPS receives PG student project financial assistance from Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE), Thiruvanathapuram on every year. St James Hospital and SJCOPS having Pharmacovigilance Centre and Materiovigilance Centre approved by Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) an autonomous institution of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Govt. of India) for the activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding, reporting and prevention of adverse effects or any other drug-related problem and medical devices. Our college is also equipped with software and sophisticated instruments lab for studies and research activities in different areas of pharmaceutical sciences. Our Drug Information Centre in the Department of Pharmacy Practice have the software Lexicomp which provides clear, concise, point-of-care drug information, including dosing, administration, warnings and precautions, as well as clinical content as online reference.
