The campus is located at the western tip of the Malabar Cost, Kannur Dist., State of Kerala, bordering with Karnataka-Kerala High way, MAHE (districts of Pondicherry State), Kasaragod and Wayanad and is in close proximity of major cities of Kannur, Talasseri, Koothuparamba, and Mahe. The campus spans an area of 218 Acres of single piece of Lush green single plot of contiguous landed property at Anjarakandi, Kannur Dist, located just 10 km from the upcoming Kannur Airport, 15 km each from two Railway stations/ major cities of Talasseri & Kannur and is serviced by all forms of Public Transport. A Fresh water River is flows through the main campus to the east, Kannur Airport to the north-west, highway to the north. This represents the location of the administrative and educational core of the proposed Malabar Institute of Technology at Anjarakandi, Kannur Dist. The history of the proposed land dates back to 1877, formerly owned by East India Company and is the First registered Landed property in Kerala (See Kerala Government web site for Land Register) with a banglaw built in 1897 is being renovated to its old glory.
Central Library:The Anjarakandy Integrated Campus Central Library is located on the first floor of the academic block. The library has a seat capacity of 200 and has a huge collection of text books, videos, and other literatures.
(a) Academic facilities: Academic facilities, as per MCI regulation are available in the Campus.
Lecture Theatres: Four class-rooms of 180 seating capacity each and one class room of 350 seats are available. All class rooms are equipped with LCD, OHP and Audio facilities.
Demo Rooms: All Departments including Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology has two demonstration rooms of 90 seating capacity each with Audio and Video and OHP and LCD facilities.
Clinical Department: All clinical departments have Demonstration rooms with 40 seating capacity each in the OPD and wards. All the Pre clinical departments have two Demo rooms with 90 seating capacity in each. All the para clinical departments have Demo rooms with 90 seating capacity in each.
Common rooms: There are Separate common rooms for boys and girls with 150 seating capacity each with attached toilets.
Laboratories: All Departments have separate Laboratories fully equipped with work tables, pelmets, lights, storage box for microscopes, sinks and teaching materials, charts, and teaching area for smooth conduct of experiments. Size of each eight laboratory in over 225 sq.m with separate area of preparation room attached to each laboratory.
Library: Library is over 4500 sq.m with two reading halls of seating capacity for at least 150 and there are staff reading room, room for interns and residents, PG, computer room, Journal room, Photocopy and bindery room, computerized internet and e- library room with about 11,285 books. This includes 6,645 books and 1,049 books available in reference section. Central Library is having 197 international journals, 87 national journals, 340 online journals and 620 CDs. This E-Library is having facilities of latest technology.
Skill Lab: Facilities are available.
Auditorium: An air-conditioned Auditorium, with a seating capacity of 1000, is housed at the Medical College building. In addition there is amphe-theatre with a seating capacity of 3000 persons.
(b) HOSPITAL: There is a 700-bedded teaching Hospital attached to the Medical College, in the same Campus, with all Departments and clinical facilities.
(c)Residential facilities (Hostel, Cafeteria and Mess): Separate Hostels for boys and girls are available. Hostel for interns, residents and nurses are also available. Cafeteria and Mess facilities are functioning in the Campus to cater the needs of students and teachers.
(d)Recreation facilities (indoor and outdoor): There is a gymnasium with all latest equipments. There are facilities for Indoor games, like, Shuttle Badminton and Table Tennis. Separate Grounds for playing Football, Volley Ball and Basket Ball are also available.
(e)Medical facilities for students and staff: Periodical medical check-up camps are arranged. Further, free treatment is provided to students and staff, as and when required.
Hostel Facility
Kannur Medical College has separate hostel facilities for girls and boys. At present there are 2 hostel blocks for boys and 3 blocks for girls. More hostels are under construction. All the hostels are within the campus with walking distance to the college buildings. Hostels are well furnished with all necessary provisions to the students.
