Welcare College of Nursing

Welcare College of Nursing is a venture of Welcare Medical & Educational Trust which aims to establish various medical and paramedical educational institutions in Kerala. The Welcare Medical & Educational Trust is headed by its Chairman , Mr. P M Sebastian. The College was started in the academic year 2010-11 for B.Sc Nursing. Post basic B.Sc Nursing was started in the academic year 2011-12. The College has all the physical facilities prescribed by the statutory bodies. The college has efficient and dedicated faculty who is really interested in the welfare of students. Welcare College of Nursing is keen to impart high quality nursing education aimed at all-round development of the student.

WELL EQUIPPED LABS

All the labs are equipped according to the requirements set up by Indian Nursing Council. FUDAMENTALS OF NURSING :Fundamentals of nursing is well equipped with adequate and modern instruments. 6 mannequins and 1 mobile CPR model on which students are allowed to practice their procedures before encountering the patients are available. 20-25 students can practice at a time. students are allowed to practice their procedures untill they attain the necessary skills under the supervisoin of faculty.
CHILD HEALTH NURSING :Child health nursing lab with 2 pediatric mannequins and all the necessary articles needed for the students to perform their child health care procedures.
OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY NURSING :Obstetrics & Gynaecology Nursing is equipped with 2 mannequins, models of pelvis, fetal skull, placenta and spongy fetuses to practice different mechanisms of labour. It is also equipped with variety of instruments and labour kit.
COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING :Community hEALTH nURSINGis equipped with adequate community bags, instruments, AV aids and family folders and can accomodate 20-25 students to practice the procedures at a time.
NUTRITION LAB :Crockery, cutlery , adequate fuel and Vegetables, fruits and other groceries are made available for the practice experience for students in Nutrition & dietetics
PRECLINICAL SCIENCE LAB :A separate lab for anatomy & physiology is available in the college. Skeletons different specimens and models are available.
COMPUTER LAB :Opportunities are given for students to use the computer lab facilities for academic purpose. Having internet facility students can practice basic computer skills.
MOST MODERN LIBRARY: The Nursing college library has a wide range of textbooks and nursing journals, both Indian and foreign. At present, there are more than 3200 professional books in our library. The library timing extends from 9 am till 4 pm. There are also about 20 periodicals including foreign & Indian journals. The library offers internet facilities for the students as well as for the faculty. A full time librarian helps students with all their research needs, including books and periodicals for class assignments and links for research
 
 Hostel Facility
ACCOMODATION Hostel isprovided for girls only. All the rooms are spacious and provided with a a cot, table, book shelf, cupboard and chairs. Hostel is provided with provision for telephone, television, refrigerator, etc. Sports and recreation facilities are provided for inmates.
MESS The hostel is well-equipped with modern and hygienic kitchen to cater the needs of the students. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods are available. . 24 hours uninterrupted power supply is given to the hostels.
