The technical education sector took a different turn in Kerala from the year 2003 when the state Govt. in principle agreed to permit self-financing private institution in Kerala state. As a result Govt. allowed 20 institutions, which impart under graduate pharmacy in the state of Kerala. By 2008 about 1300 graduates pass out every year from the pharmacy Institutions.
