Started in the Year 1995, affiliated to the Kannur University, Mary Matha Arts & Science College is a Government-Aided College, managed by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mananthavady. There are Six Under Graduate Programs (B.A. Functional English, B.Sc. Mathematics, Zoology, Computer Science, Chemistry, and B. Com with Computer Applications), Two Post Graduate Programme in Mathematics and Computer Science, Four Research Programs leading to M. Phil. & Ph.D. in Mathematics (Kannur, Mahatma Gandhi and Anna Universities), Malayalam (Kannur University), Zoology (Kannur University), and English (Kerala, Mahatma Gandhi, and IGNOU Universities) and Two Research Centres in Mathematics and Zoology.
Well equipped labs
The Audio-Visual Room:Our audio-visual hall is very well appointed with computers, an overhead projector & screen, acoustic/sound facilities, TV etc. It is used regularly for seminars, conferences, classes which require these facilities, film shows, sessions of the Music Club etc.The hall seats 300 people comfortably.
Indoor Stadium:The new indoor stadium-cum-multipurpose facility, constructed with UGC aid, was inaugurated recently. It has an area of 6000 sq ft and has facilities for basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton etc. It also houses our Outreach Resource Centre, a common prayer hall, three-tier stage etc.
Smart Class Room:The smart class rooms integrate ICT into our regular teaching-learning and enable the academic community to readily utilize the benefits of the internet, multimedia etc. Teachers have gradually acquired the skills needed to use the facilities; the use of these facilities also initiates the students into the challenging and rich world of ICT, networked learning, instant connectivity etc.
The Canteen: A well furnished and spacious (total area 3000 sq ft) canteen with separate space for students and staff.
Co-Operative Store:The Cooperative store is run by the college under the co-operative society Ltd (Government of Kerala, Reg. No. W 226). The objective of the society is to supply text books, note books, office stationary items on subsidized price.
The Central Library and Reading Room:The college has a fully automated central library, the major learning resource of the institution
Network Resource Center: The Network Resource Centre (NRC) of the College has 15 networked computers with internet facility which is regularly used by the students for academic and extracurricular purposes.
Hostel Facility
The College offers hostel facility for girls in the campus itself. The hostel has facilities to accommodate forty persons at a time.Apart from the college hostel, another hostel (St. Joseph’s Hostel) run by the nuns and approved by the college offers hostel facility to girls.
Scholarship Facility
The institution provides the following financial assistance to students as Scholarships in addition to the State and Central Government aids.
