Nirmalagiri College, a minority institution belonging to the Archdiocese of Thalassery was established on 13th May 1964 by H. E. Rt. Rev. Dr. Sebastian Valloppilly, the first Bishop of Tellicherry Diocese. Instituted under the guardianship of Holy Mother Mary to impart degree education in Arts and Science streams, the College now offers 15 Degree Courses in Arts, Science and Commerce subjects including 3 Post Graduate Courses, viz Economics, Physics and Chemistry, and a PG Diploma Course in Nanotechnology funded by the UGC. The college was re-accredited with A Grade (CGPA: 3.15) in 2011.
library :Nirmalagiri College library is the second largest one in Kannur University. Nirmalagiri College library is with a distinction of its own having the collection of rare books currently totaling 51000; 65 journals & six newspapers in Malayalam, English and Hindi. It has a CD collection dealing with a variety of subjects. Photo copying facility also is available in the library. Apart from this the library is automated for easy access and retrieval of books. The library provides separate reading rooms and reference sections for the students and staff.
Computer Training Centre: Computer training wing of Nirmalagiri College offers different International certification courses.In the wake of globalization, the students have to compete with the international standards in IT field, by acquiring highly technical and Internationally certified courses.
Canteen:A college canteen is functioning in the College campus. It provides varieties of food a subsidized rates.
Co-operative Store
Staff & students can purchase books and other stationery items available in the store at a reasonable price. It is run by a nonprofit society with the staff and students as its members.
