Government Polytechnic College, Kasaragod is the first professional college in the Government Sector in Kasaragod District established by the Government of Kerala in the year 1988, at Chattanchal. It was inaugurated by the then Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala Sri. E.K. Nayanar in the function presided over by Sri. K Chandrasekharan, Honorable Minister for Education. In the beginning only two branches of Diploma Courses were sanctioned – Electronics engineering & Electrical engineering, each with intake of 25.The institution was then shifted to the present site Periye in 1993. It is spread in an Area of scenic 12 acres of land, near the BEKAL FORT which is just 5 Km away. The campus is situated by the side of NH-17 about 13 Kms North of Kanhangad and 23 Kms South of Kasaragod Town.
