Meenakshi College of Engineering affiliated to Anna University & AICTE was established in the year 2001-2002 by the Meenakshi Ammal Trust, Chennai, which is a public charitable educational trust formed for reaching quality education to more and more deserving and aspiring students. The college campus is located in the heart of Chennai city and easily accessible from different parts of the suburbs also. A sprawling and spacious layout with a serene and green environment welcome the students as they step into the college campus. The campus is a well planned one and has well designed, airy and bright classrooms, modern conference and seminar halls, well equipped laboratories and workshops, computer campus are playgrounds, canteen and a health centres.
Library:The college central library is well equipped with more than 40,000 volumes of books on different titles in various disciplines like Computer Science, Electronics, Electricals, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Civil and Business Administration. The library engulfs many National and International Journals and e Journals.
Cafeteria: The college has a cafeteria facility which caters to the needs of the day- scholars. Cafeteria provides Breakfast, Lunch, Beverages, Snacks, Ice creams and Chat items at subsidized rate. They provide healthy and quality food to students thereby encouraging and ensuring at an affordable cost of food.
Transport: The College has a fleet of buses plying from various places of Chennai for the benefit of Students and Staff members. These buses operate along different routes starting from different places approximately between 6.30 and 6.45 a.m. The college provides free transport facility for the Staff members. Special buses are available after college hours for the convenience of the staff and students involved in sports and other activities.
Hostel Facility
Boy’s hostel has an excellent facility that makes students feel comfortable as at home. Boys have their own mess. The mess is spacious with a dining hall and kitchen where the students are offered a choice of vegetarian and non- vegetarian food. The hostel is like an extended home place, conducive for students to groom and grow healthy. We have leisure time activities to make them excel intellectually, physically, psychologically and spiritually. Hostel has a playground to play in the evening hours and other sports activities are also encouraged to make them motivated and be focused.
Girls hostel has is very secured and consists of well-constructed rooms with other amenities. Girl’s hostels have their own mess. The hostel is like an extended home place, conducive for students to groom and grow healthy. The mess is spacious with a dining hall and kitchen where the students are offered a choice of vegetarian and non- vegetarian food. To entertain the student’s television is also kept in the dining hall for their relaxation.
