Syed Ammal Engineering College (SAEC) has striven over the years to bloom into an institution of repute and standard in the comity of institutions of its élan and calibre. Affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and approved by All India Council of Technical and Education (AICTE) and the State Government, the college offers graduate programmes in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering streams and post-graduate programmes in Computer Science & Engineering, Embedded System Technologies, VLSI design, Manufacturing Engineering, Power Electronics & Drives and Master of Business Administration (MBA). Spread over an extent of 25 acres of landmass, amidst serene and salubrious environs, the college has state-of –the- art technology and avant-garde resources for its academic and administrative apparatus - be it library, pedagogical aides, class rooms, computing systems, laboratories, workshops or hostels and cafeteria, and even sports and leisure, besides housing a score of professional bodies and chapters, including that of IEEE, ISTE, CSI, IETE, IE (India) and SAE on the one hand and fine arts and culture on the other, to enliven and burnish the seemingly heavy and dreary weltanschauung of engineering education. The college has forged strategic alliances with industry facilitators - Randstat, ICT Academy, E2 , Oracle, ETA– to quote a few- and academic collaboration with UniversitiSains Malaysia, Penang, to bolster its intellectual capital. An exclusive research centre to hone the Faculty expertise in cutting-edge areas of academic ingenuity and vibrant Alumni, spread across the country and spanning overseas, enriches and enlarges the resource base of the college, making it as distinct and dashy as any of its class and calibre.

Transport Facility: The college has a fleet of 35 buses which are made available to the students, faculty members and staff members for commuting from various points in the Ramanathapuram town and also from Paramaudi, Manamadurai, Ilayangudi, Mudhukulathur, Rameswaram, Kilakarai, Thondi, R.S Mangalam and other adjacent areas.
Post Office Facility: Post office is functioning in our college campus in all working days during 10.00 A.M to 3.00 P.M. not only to the students and staff members of the college but also to the general public. The services available in this post office are Speed Post, Register Parcel and Register Parcel.
ATM Facility: An ATM of HDFC bank and Canara Bank are functioning in the entrance of the college which provides service to the students, faculty members, and staff members of the college as well as to the general public.
Internet:All the computers in the computer labs of all departments, library, HOD rooms, faculty rooms, computers available in office and hostels are provided with internet access through hardwired networking. The internet facility is obtained from three service providers such as Reliance, JIO and BSNL. The total bandwidth of the internet is 104 Mbps. A separate File Transfer Protocol (FTP) facility is developed for students to share their contents within the college campus.
Wi- Fi availability:Wi-Fi is facility is available throughout the campus as well asin boys and girls hostel. The total number of Wi-Fi Access Points available in the campus is 71. In order to protect the unauthorized access to the Wi-Fi, a student/ faculty must register their computer with concerned authority. After the authentication, they can access the internet through Wi-Fi access points anywhere in the college campus and hostel.
Telecom Facility:All the buildings in the college campus are connected by intercom telephones through computerized EPAX system. In addition to that, STD and ISD facilities are available in college campus as well as in hostels.
Canteen Facility:A canteen is functioning in the campus for the benefit of students & staff. Spacious, airy & trendy canteen provides enough scope for students to break free from their arduous schedules and enjoy delicious food in an extremely pleasant ambience
Edusat Facility:Our college has the facility of receiving lectures of eminent professors in Anna University on various subjects through educational satellites by ISRO through Anna University. By this arrangement students can strengthen their subject knowledge and they also have the feeling of being in Anna University
Medical Center Facility: A medical center is functioning in the college campus for providing medical relief to the students. A medical practitioner is visiting the college for this purpose. In case of any one requires advanced treatment, they will be immediately taken to the one of the trust hospitals located near to the college campus.
Auditorium: An indoor auditorium with the capacity of 3000 seating can be used for hosting common events such college days, sport days and graduation days etc.
Seminar Hall:There is a well-furnished and fully acoustic air conditioned seminar hall is available in EEE block with the capacity of 400 seating to stage various events such as seminars, conferences and symposiums. In addition to that, each department has a separate seminar halls for conducting department events.
 
 Hostel Facility
Due to the discipline of our college hostel, parents prefer to admit their wards in our hostel. There is a separate boys and girls hostels run by our management. Hygienic, nutritious and balanced food at nominal cost is provided. Food is prepared with help of modern kitchen equipment in the hostel. Strict rules have been framed to maintain pleasant and peaceful atmosphere for study. The study hour is implemented between 6.30 P.M and 8.30 P.M in the hostels except on Saturdays. This study hour helped the students to secure ranks in the University Examinations. A multi-gym is functioning in the boys hostels for the students to improve their physique and strength.
