Nehru Memorial College is an Autonomous, Aided institution affiliated to Bharathidhasan University established in 1967. The college offers various UG & PG Programmes and also promotes research & innovation in teaching-learning process in various disciplines with a special focus on Computer Science and Instrumentation.
SOLAR SYSTEM: The college building roof-Tops are covered with solar Panels. A 280 KW grid connected solar power plant is functioning effectively supplying Green Energy. About 30% to 40% of the campus energy requirements are met through this power source.
ATM - SYNDICATE BANK: Syndicate Bank a Nationalized Bank of India has installed an ATM at the entrance of the college facilitating the staff, students and other stake holders to have the facility of withdrawing money at their ease.
TRANSPORT FACILITY: Dayscholar Girl students coming from various places are provided with Bus facility.
WASTE WATER MANAGEMENT: All the waste water generated in the hostels are Biologically treated and pursued for irrigation inside the campus. Excess water is also provided for irrigation to nearby farms which grows lime plants in about 20 Acres. A Biogas night soil based plant is also functioning which converts the bio mass into Biogas which is used to heat water in the boiler.
R O WATER: There is a 2000 litre RO plant which produces sufficient quantity of RO water which is distributed to all strategic consumption points like class rooms, hostels, etc., Students are encouraged to use their own bottles to pickup portable water from these vantage points.
