The Institute of Cooperative Management, Madurai was started during 1983. The Institute is having national network through one National Institute known as Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management, (VAMNICOM) Pune, Five Regional Institutes of Cooperative Management and 14 Institutes all over the country.
Library: Research scholars from different colleges and universities are also using the library for their research and consultancy needs. It has a good collection of above 6000 books on various subjects like Cooperation, allied areas such as Cooperative Accounts, Audit, Cooperative Law and other Law, Psychology, Sociology, MIS and Computer, Credit and Banking, General Management and other functional management areas. The Institute subscribes for 48 journals in different areas.
