The Department of Physical Education & Sports, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University came into existence ever since the inception of the University on September 1990. The Department of Physical Education and Sports, MSU, has been able to carve out a name for itself among the high achievers in the field of sports and games, mostly by the impressive support it has enjoyed from several quarters, the most important of them being the University Administration. Periodically the Department comes up with a lot of well meaning suggestions to be considered by the University authorities to foster sports talents, most of which have been well received.

M.Phil. Physical Education | Master of Physical Education (MPEd)

1 .	M.Phil. Physical Education
	Eligibility Candidates who have passed post graduate degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed., M.P.E., and M.P.E.S.) of any University recognized by the Syndicate of this University with not less than 50% marks
	Duration 1 Year
	Admission Procedure Admission shall be made either on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and also in the entrance test conducted by the University

2 .	Master of Physical Education (MPEd)
	Eligibility Candidates with B.P.Ed having secured at least 50% of marks or B.P.E. (or) B.P.E.S (3 years) having secured at least 50% of marks are eligible for admission. Candidates shall be physically fit as there will be regular vigorous physical activities and shall not have any physical deformities or mental disability. Representation at college level in any one of the games or sports as per AIU list of games is mandatory

	Admission Procedure Admission shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and also the selection test conducted by the University, as per the directions of the State Government and NCTE, Southern Center, Bangalore. Candidates shall secure a minimum of 50% of marks in the selection test conducted by the university
