Arcot Sri Mahalakshmi Womens College of Education was established in the year 2005 under the TRUST. The TRUST has constructed a spacious building as per statutory norms laid by the NCTE and affiliating University. The College is located at Vilapakkam Villege, Arcot Taluk at a distance of about 5 K.M form the Arcot Town.. The college is situated in a very ideal and lush green atmosphere away from noise and pollution of city life.
The main objective of the Society / Trust to set up the College at the present rural location was to take teacher education nearer to the prospective teachers belonging to rural areas and at the same time enable those belonging to urban areas to easily familiarize themselves with rural background and hence understand conveniently the role of community in the development of the schools.
