The first college of the society. Al-Ameen Arts, Science & Commerce College was started in 1968 in the old campus in a rented building behind Government Medical College, Bangalore. The College is named as Al-Ameen which is one of the attributes of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) which means “Trust-worthy”. The college had only 33 students on roll in the first year PUC course affiliated to Pre-University Board. In the very next year, the college started Degree courses affiliated to Bangalore University. It had co-education and was an aided institution based on secular ideals. The results went on scaling heights with one or two ranks in the degree examinations of Bangalore University in the initial years.
