The minimum eligibility of candidates intending to pursue a doctoral programme is a pass with a minimum of 55% in a postgraduate programme and MPhil. The students who have cleared UGC-CSIR NET/JRF examination or SLET/GATE examinations and also the students who have worked as JRF for one year in the externally funded major research projects may be exempted from MPhil requirement. In case of internally funded major research projects (MRP), the students may be exempted from MPhil requirement after two years of research experience. Under certain conditions such as presence of high impact publications students with high academic performance at the postgraduate level, may be admitted directly to a PhD programme.

A composite score of 600 or above in the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by AIMA in either September / December 2017 / February 2018 OR A composite score of 450 or above in GMAT 2017 / February 2018 OR 70 percentile or above in the Common Management Admission test (CMAT 2018) OR 70 percentile or above in the Common Admission test 2017 (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) OR 70 percentile or above in the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT 2018). And 50% or above marks in aggregate in the undergraduate examinations. (Applicants who are in the final year of their studies should have 50% or above aggregate in all the semesters / years of undergraduate examinations conducted so far). Students writing their final degree examinations during March-May 2018 are also eligible to apply. Minimum Score specified for MAT / CAT / CMAT / XAT / GMAT is only an eligibility criteria and the actual score thereof shall have no bearing in the selection process.
