Established in 1996-97, Government First Grade College, Kuvempunagar , Mysore holds the distinction of being the first government co-educational college in the Heritage City of Mysore. The college is on the threshold of completing two decades of its fruitful existence. After a decade of its establishment, the college was duly recognized under sections 2(f) and 12 (B) of the UGC Act 1956.The college is affiliated to University of Mysore, one of the oldest and prestigious universities of the country. The college at present runs four Undergraduate programmes viz., Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Bachelor of Business Management (BBM).
Students Counseling Centre :The counsellors reach out to the students formally and informally.
Primary Health Care Centre :Takes care of basic health problems of the students.
Canteen :Provides wholesome food to the students at subsidized rates.
'SAHAKARI' - Mid-day Meal Program :Funded and supported by the college faculty enables over 100 students who come from BPL families to have free mid-day meals.
