A Bishop's dream and a Maharaja's munificence culminated in the establishment of St. Philomena's College on October 9, 1946. His Excellency the Rt. Rev. Dr. Rene Feuga, the First Bishop of Mysore, vacated his mansion to make room for classes and the Wodeyars, the Mysore Royal family, encouraged the Diocese in its maiden venture into higher education.
The College was declared open by His Highness Sri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar, the Maharaja of Mysore- a rare honour and privilege for any institution.
Library:St. Philomena College Library came into existence in 1946 with the establishment of the college and began functioning with a modest collection of a few hundred books.
Canteen: The College Canteen has been functioning efficiently since its inception. The objective of it is to provide wide range of food items with proper sanitary conditions by assuring food safety and quality and a kiosk for the packaged foods.
Bank & ATMs: There are two ATM counters in our College Campus, one from the Syndicate Bank and the other from the South Indian Bank.
Gym: Whether you are passionate about our physique or not, you can benefit form the gym on the campus. The gym contains state-of-the-art facilitates and equipment including tread mill, CV machines, fixed machines and free weights.
Day Care:Child care facility is available to the teaching and non-teaching staff and student-parents at affordable cost.
language lab: The language lab was set up in the institution to address the issues of English language learning. The lab is a technological breakthrough for imparting skills in English.
Hostel Facility
Seperate hostel facilities for boys and girls
