Government First Grade College, Halebeedu was established in the year 2007 and it is affiliated to the University of Mysore. The college is situated in an historical place which has its own cultural heritage. Halebeedu was ruled by Rashtrakutas and Dhruva, an important ruler of this dynasty constructed a lake and it was called ‘Dora Samudra’. The sculptures in Hoysaleshwara temple attract many tourists all over the world.
