The Government of Andhra Pradesh has started 3 residential degree colleges in the State, Kalikiri (Chitoor dist), Kanchikacherla (Vijayawada, Krishna dist) and Buddhera (Medak dist) exclusively for SC,ST & BC girl students in 2013. The degree course is offered free of cost and the budget for these colleges is sanctioned under SC Sub Plan by the Governemnt.
The Social Welfare Residential Government Degree College for Girls [SWRGDCG], Kanchikacherla was established with this mission in the year 2013 and the college is temporarily accommodated at SRR & CVR Government College, Vijayawada, Krishna District.
