BJR Degree college was established in the year 1974 at Prakash Nagar, Secunderabad by BJR Educational Society to propagate the ideas and message of Sri. Babu Jagjivan Ram, a great leader an able administrator, a crusader and a saviour of scheduled caste, scheduled tribes and backward classes.Sri. Babu Jagjivan Ram, more... struggled throughout his life for the emancipation of the weak and the downtrodden. BJR Degree College aims at providing and promoting educational opportunities to the backward and under privileged sections of the society.The college was taken over by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 1989.On 7th of September 2001 it was shifted to the premises of Government Junior College for Boys, Bazarghat, Nampally.
