College was established in 1980 named as Koyalchal Sanjay Gandhi Memorial College. The K.S.G.M. College, Nirsa is a Co-educational degree College permanently affiliated to Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribag and imparts general education in all three faculties of Arts, Science and Commerce. Honours teaching is being taught in almost all subjects. This College has been registered by University Grants Commission under 2f and 12 B. After its registration in U.G.C, K.S.G.M. College created a new chapter in its annals of success by fulfilling all the necessary amenities.
