The Yashwantrao Chavan College is situated in an inspiring scenic location of a small village, named Halkarni of Chandgad Taluka, in Kolhapur district, Maharashtra state.Yashwantrao Chavan College is the first and foremost college in the Chandgad taluka. Beginning with 250 students, now with the strength of 1300 in its twenty years life.The College is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. It has got permanent affiliation from the University in the year 2003. The Collge has also got the recognition of 2(b) and 12(B) from U.G.C New Delhi. The college is accredited by NAAC(UGC Committee Bangalore) in 2004 and awarded C++ grade.
library: Books, journals, periodicals, magazines, encyclopedias, reference books, newspapers, etc are available in the library.Dictionaries, Encyclopaedia, Periodicals, Journals, References, CDs etc. The library is strengthened by improving the collection of text books (2210), reference books (343) and periodicals (10). Library is partially computerized. It has OPAC system and it provides book bank facility.
Gymkhana : The Gymkhana of our college is well equipped Gymnasium. College has a playground. Having fair geographical background, students in the region are industrious and physically well-built.
Gymnasium: Our college has a multi gym-machine. Our college students and ex-students are given the full benefit of this gym by taking minimum fees.
Medicinal, Plants and Garden: In this botanical garden more than 50 medicinal plants have been cultivated. Each plant is properly names, classified with specific name plates. Along with medicinal plants some ornamental plants, perfume plants and cosmetic plants have also been cultivated. In addition to that some medicinal plants have naturally grown in the college campus.
Playground : The campus has a large playground covering nearly 6 acres. The ground has an athletic events, running, throwing, jumping, a kho-kho court, a volleyball-kabaddi court and handball court.
