The Late Narayan Meghaji Lokhande Maharashtra Institute of Labour Studies came into existence in July 1947 in Mumbai owing to the initiative of the then Labour Minister in the government of Mumbai, Bharatratna Gulzarilalji Nanda. It is a unique institute, one of its kind in the field of labour studies.
LIBRARY: The institute has well equipped library with approximately 9000 books for references on variety of topics like Labour Economics, Industrial Economics, Managerial Economic, Labour Welfare, Management Science , Human Resource Development , Human Resource Management , Personnel Management, History of Labour Movements and Trade Unions, Labour Laws, and other Magazines and Journals.
PLAY GROUND: The institute has well maintained playground where the students can refresh themselves by playing games such as Chess, Badminton, Carom, Volley Ball, Cricket, etc.
AUDITORIUM: There is an auditorium where in about 300 people can be seated at the same time.
