Dhananjayrao Gadgil Institute of Co-operative Management (DGICM), Nagpur was established in the year 1972 to cater to the training requirements of personnel working in cooperative organizations and cooperative departments of Maharashtra State. As a tribute the Institute is named after the late Dr. Dhananjayrao Gadgil, the distinguished economist, Co-operator and former Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Government of India. It is one among the 19 Institutes, functioning in different parts of the country, under the administrative control of the National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT), New Delhi. It is a 50 per cent grant-in-aid organization of Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, New Delhi and 50 percent grant-in-aid from Government of Maharashtra, Department of Cooperation. Since its inception, all endeavors are being made to cater the cooperative training requirements of the State. Seminars, Workshops and Conferences are being organized on cooperative related issues. The syllabus of the core courses of this Institute has been developed by Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad. The main objective of the Institute is to induction of professionalism in management of cooperatives
Class Rooms :We have spacious class rooms for the participants/students of various Diploma Programmes and MBA Programme and well furnished executive hall for the participants of Management Development Programmes and also for conducting of Seminars, Workshops and presentations. Institute possess of four Air-conditioned Class Rooms with sitting capacity of 60 each with modern facilities to make the learning and training process more effective and meaningful.
Conference Hall, Meeting Hall and Seminar Hall :The Institute has aesthetically designed Conference Hall and Seminar Hall with U-Shape configuration to facilitate effective discussions and deliberations. Spacious and plausible hall is equipped with suitable public address system which can accommodate 200 participants/students at a time.
Computer Lab :The Institute has a well furnished and well equipped computer laboratory having PCs connected by LAN and having 2 Mbps speeds internet facility. Besides that the Institute campus is having WiFi facility 24X365 days. The Computer Lab is being used by the participants/students of Short Term Programmes/Diploma Programmes/MBA Programme. In all Institute is having 41 Computers, 3 laptops, 1 server, 3 LCD projectors, 11 printers, 2 scanners and Video Conferencing System.
Library :Institute is having an excellent library with around 7,500 books and 50 journals on Management, Cooperation, Agriculture, Rural Development, Computer, Cooperative Laws and allied Laws, Finance and Accounts, HRM and IR, Marketing, Consumer and OB. The Institute also subscribed various international journals in the field of Management and Cooperation.
Medical :The Institute has Authorized Medical Attendant who is visiting once in a week to examine the health problems of the staff members of the Institute and participants/students of the Short term and long term programmes.
Sports :The Institute is organizing indoor and outdoor games for the participants/ students of the long term courses.
Playground :For recreation and entertainment, playground is available within the campus.
Hostel Facility
Institute is having well furnished Hostel with mess facility. The Institute’s hostel has 40 rooms (including 3 AC Guest Rooms) on twin sharing basis and equipped with modern facilities like cupboards, tables, chairs, attached bathrooms and TV sets. Institute has separate hostel facility for gents and ladies. A recreation hall is there in the hostel which invites participants/students in their leisure time for watching visual media, newspapers and WiFi accessibility is made available.
