Vidyasagar Kala Mahavidyalaya was formally opened on 9th August, 1999 at Khairi (Bijewada), a small tribal village at the outskirts of Ramtek. The college is recognized and fully aided by Government of Maharashtra and permanently affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. The college is included under section 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act 1956. The college offers B.A. Degree in various subjects. VKM is today the leading centre providing quality education to the tribal and rural students and empowering them to meet the challenges of 21st century. VKM from its humble beginnings in 1999 has come a long way. In its upward journey, the college had to face many problems. The able leadership, strong determination and untiring efforts of Smt. Anitaji Jaiswal helped us overcome all this and achieve the present status of the college.
Library: The college has a well-furnished library which contains 2000 books. It subscribes to various periodicals, Journals and newspapers in Marathi, Hindi and English. The college plans to computerize the library and provide internet facility to the students.

Financial aids and assistance are available to the students as per the central and state government rules and regulations.
