Established in 1959 at the backdrop of a picturesque landscape, Dhenkanal Autonomous College, Dhenkanal has carved a niche for itself in academic excellence not only in the state, but in the country as well. The results of the students testify to this honour. However, an endless pursuit of excellence being the motto, the College is forever making an endeavor to excel itself. To achieve this, it lays emphasis on a strategic planning that makes an assessment of its current functioning and the modus operandi of executing a higher mission that includes such crucial aspects like financial planning, budgeting, staffing and academic programming, which, in turn, would essentially relate to matching institutional commitments and the real, concrete benefits to the students.
Auditorium: The College has developed a state-of- the- art Auditorium and is frequently used for presentations, seminars, fests, events of the college. The College Auditorium has a fixed stage and can accommodate more than four hundred of audience comfortably. It is a perfect venue for musical, dance, theatre and film performances, as well as lectures, conferences and graduations.
Canteen:The College provides canteen facility inside the college premises in which tea, snacks, cold drinks, ice cream, breakfast, lunch and dinner are available for students and staff.
Gymnasium: The College has a fully furnished multi-gym comprising of Power lifting, Weightlifting and Dead lift. Facilities are available for Cricket, Football, Athletics, Badminton, Kho-Kho for the students in the College premises. The College has a large playground, gymnasium and equipments which are necessary for the above sports.
Playground: The College has a Playground having inbuilt track for field events, and organizes different types of games as an annual event
Library: The College Library has been named as Nanak Bhawan, and contains more than 51, 150 text and reference books and can accommodate more than 200 students at a time. The students are allowed to have photocopy facilities of important component of books, journals, and periodical of their requirement.
Lab: The Lab is well equipped with original Windows Professional, Advanced Server, and Programming software with internet connectivity. The College being member of various on-line Journals, extend the facility to students to browse the sites, and refer national and international journals and periods to broaden their horizon of knowledge.
Hostel Facility
The College has two hostels for separately for Boys and Girls and named as “Kapilash” and “Upasana” respectively.
Scholarship Facility
The Government of Odisha in Department of Scheduled Tribe & Scheduled Caste and Minorities & Backward Classes provide post matric scholarship to the eligible students under Prerana Scheme. Besides, the students also avails scholarships made available to post graduate students by the University Grants Commission, Government of India.
