Baripada College is an institute with a human face. The history of Baripada College is the history of expansion of knowledge and education in North Odisha. At a time when there was no such wide spread of college education and people had to send their children to the outside for higher education, there came group of intellectuals to establish a college in the name of Baripada College in the heart of the town. Baripada College is on the threshold of celebrating of its 34 years eventful existence in 2015. The college was started I.A. class in 1981 affiliated to Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Today Baripada College has transformed itself from budding institute into a value based high quality college over a period of time. The learning environment, rich academic resources and high intellectual capital base provide the right ambience and perfect platform for developing a bright young mind into a dynamic and socially conscious citizen of India. The college as a pioneer institute takes every effort to imbibe the values of social sensivity, ethical courage and self tride motivation among students. Walking along the corridors of history with much ups and downs, the college has been accreditated by NAAC with ‘B’ Grade with CGPA of 2.23 in 2009. Now the college is fortunate enough to face 2nd cycle of NAAC with its newly built up academic blocks, Library- cum-Reading Room, Boys’ Hostel, Women’s Hostel and many more infrastructural set up. The college will continue to attract students of both Odisha and neighbouring States for its quality education in Arts, Science and I.T. The college is committed to lead the students to meet the challenges of the ever intensifying competition and excel in every sphere of their lives and help in nation building.
library : There are more than six thousand titles at present over and above the periodicals. The special feature of the library are its collection on Indian Culture, regular purchase of 39 periodicals and journals and a small audio system with audio cassettes on different rare topics. These however do not including the newspapers.
Student Common Rooms: The College provides two Common Rooms for men and women students of the college for healthy recreation and mutual contact among the students There are provisions for some indoor games like Chess, Carom etc. for the use of the students in their leisure hours
