The college was started through public enterprise from the Academic session 1982-83 as a private Teacher’s Training College. It was recognised by the Govt. of Odisha and affiliated to the Sambalpur University from the session 1982-83. The college had been named as “KALAHANDI TRAINING COLLEGE, BHWANIPATNA” In view of the importance of this training college in an educationally backward district like Kalahandi and Nuapada, it was a pressing demand of the public that the Training College should be handed over to the Govt. Then Government of Odisha was pleased enough to take over the management of this training college effect from 14.10.1993 and consequently a long-felt need of the district was fulfilled.
Laboratory: The College has two Laboratories namely Science Laboratory and Language Laboratory which cater the needs of students & staff. In addition, various audio-visual aids have been preserved in the laboratory to facilitate effective teaching.
Library: The College has a good library with a reading room which opens during college hours. It has a good number of books and journals to meet the requirement of the students and staff. There is a qualified Librarian and an Officer-in-Charge to take care of the library.
Information Technology: The College has the facilities of Computers, Internet, Fax, E-mail for prompt communication. There is separate room for computers.
