The college was born on 2nd September 1991 with 92 students in the building adjacent to Janata High School. It’s started with Arts Stream only and added +3 Arts Stream in 1997.The institution has been managed by the Governing Body since 1991. In 2008 session the Govt. of Odisha, Department of H.S. has accorded 40% of Block grant to the college after 17 years of its inception. In the last 20 years the institution had faced financial crunches from time to time. Because of the ruthless effort of members of G.B. and members of Abahak Committee, and the staff and local interest, the institution could stand.
