The institute was established in the year 1962 to meet the emerging need of skilled technicians at diploma level.It was felt by the state government to start the institute with three core branches viz. Civil, Mechanical and Electrical respectively. The Institute commenced its journey from the premises of Multi-Purpose school, near Kachahari Chowk ,Durg, Mr. M. A. Quereshi was the founder Principal.The institute is in the prime location on G.E. Road ,38 Km away from Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh state. It is easily approachable from Mumbai- Kolkata Railway line.
