Lalit Narayan Tirhut Mahavidyalaya is a prestigious co-educational college, located at Aghoria Bazar chowk, a prime location of Muzaffarpur. The college was established in the year 1967, named Tirhut Mahavidyalaya by the vigorous effort of it founder members, under the leadership of the then Railway Minister, great visionary and social worker Late Lalit Narayan Mishra.But after the assassination of Pandit L.N. Mishra in 1975 a special and urgent meeting was held on 8th January 1975, under the presidentship of Sri Radha Mohan Shukla in which a resolution was adopted to express its deepest sance of sorrow and on record its profound brief over the sad and untimely demise under tragic circumstances of Sri Lalit Narayan Mishra, Railway Minister.
Library : There is a separate Library building in the college. The Library has open access system. All students and staff have library access cards, ensures the smooth issue and return of books. For quick access of books, each book is bar coded. The library is well equipped with computer.
Common Room: The college has two common rooms for both boys and girls students in "Dinkar Bhawan" with academic and recreational facilities
Canteen : Lalit Narayan Tirhut Mahavidyalay Canteen is a small spacious area, with a view of greenery all around, and a variety of refreshments available. It tends to be the most popular place on campus, not only for physical refreshment but also for student bonding, discussions and even work on assignments and projects.
