The renowned freedom fighter Gobinda Prasad Singha endeavored to set up a higher educational institute in the remotest part of the Bankura District so that the students can avail adequate facilities. The College was established in 1985 and was affiliated by the University of Burdwan on 20-09-1985 on temporary basis and later on 30-08-1988 on substantive basis in order to extend higher education in the most backward areas of the district.
Library : The library has adequate number of texts books, reference books, encyclopedias, journals, newspapers, a reading room, internet facility and power back up system. All the books are also kept in digitalized form so that it provides easy access to the students and the faculty members.
Computer Room- There is a well designed computer room where there are 10 +2 computers with internet facilities. The students can access the computers whenever they feel the necessity.
Language Laboratory – We have a well equipped Language Laboratory with 20 seating capacity including one instructor.
Conference Room – There is a conference room for the faculty where important discussions and meetings take place regarding academic developments.
Gymnasium – The College has a Gym with multi-gym facility machineries to promote the physical strength of students. The old age adage “Health is Wealth” is so true that by boosting the health consciousness among students we can make them active and energetic towards study.
Health Unit– We does not have a separate room for health and hygiene but the College has a system of monitoring the health of students by a medical practitioner. Owing to lack of funds we cannot provide a separate room for the above mentioned purpose.
Auditorium– The College does not have a separate auditorium for holding cultural programmes because of paucity of funds.
Karate Unit – There is a Karate unit which teaches karate to boys and girls separately.
