UPDATE PHOTOS of Siliguri Institute of Technology

Established in 1999, Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) is an IT based institution running under the vision of Techno India Group and is only one of its kinds in North Bengal. About 5 km away from Siliguri city, the Institute has a sprawling and picturesque campus surrounded by opulent lush green tea gardens, dense forests of Sukna with a backdrop of Sub-Himalayan ranges making it a premier abode of learning. The institute runs Six B.Tech programs, undergraduate and postgraduate courses in management and computer applications along with an undergraduate program in Hotel Management and Catering Technology involving more than 1500 students.

Library: In addition to the general books, Book Bank facility is also available in the library. The Digital Library Archives has been started by the central library by using Greenstone Digital Library Software. It is situated in the 1st year Building within a 1500 Sq. ft. carpet area with 45 PC machines with well equipped modern facilities.
Internet Facility: All computers are connected with highend network (both wired and WiFi) and supported by multiple high speed dedicated internet connectivity.
Transport Facility: SIT runs college Bus service for Faculties & Students along specified routes from the city to the college and back.
Cafteria/ Canteen: Three nos. of well equipped spacious canteens is available within the Institute campus providing hygienic breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks for students, faculties as well as visitors with a subsidized rate.
Conference Hall: Well furnished separate conference halls situated at ground floor meant for the conduct of conferences and conventions in various fields.
Banking Facility: Banking Facility to the Institute is extended by Union Bank of India (A Nationalized Bank) located at a distance of 500 meters from the Campus. The branch name being, Siliguri Institute of Technology Branch. The institute has an ATM counter of its Banker just at the entrance and the other one location at the branch.
Medical Facility: Well equipped and fully air conditioned First aid centre is available within the campus with well trained medical support staff. Reputed doctors are available on call and for Hostellers it is available for 24 Hrs. An Emergency vehicle is also available round the clock.

Hostel Facility
Excellent tie-up hostel facilities available in the immediate vicinity of the college, separately for male and female students. Most importantly the dedicated hostel for only 1st year students.
There are three hostels for 1st year students. Out of three, two hostels for boys & One hostel for the girls. Seat capacity of the hostels is very limited, so the students can stay at hostels first cum first serve basis.

	Eligibility Admissions are made as per the directive of the State Government issued from year to year. As of now, 80% of the seats are filled up through Central Counselling from the candidates who have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, or any equivalent examination of recognized Board or University and qualified in the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board and as recommended by the Central Selection Committee (E&T). Remaining 10% seats are filled up also through Central Counselling from the candidates of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). There is a provision of 10% of WBJEE sets to be filled up through Management Quota. Diploma holders in Engineering/Technology and B.Sc. Degree holders are as well eligible for admission into the third semester (2nd year) of B.Tech courses on qualifying an Entrance Test so designed for the purpose by the WBJEE Board and subsequent Counselling by CSC (E&T) on supernumerary basis, as per AICTE notification.
