Nani Bhattacharya Smarak Mahavidyalaya was set up on 1st November, 2000 in memory of the great freedom fighter Sri Nani Bhattacharya. Since then it had remained as one of the important colleges of North Bengal. It is a Government-aided college, affiliated to the University of North Bengal.The college is situated at Jaigaon, in the district of Alipurduar near the Indo-Bhutan border about 18 KM away from the Hasimara Railway station. The campus of the college is unique for its scenic beauty as it is situated in the foothills of the Himalayas and surrounded by beautiful tea gardens. The educational journey which started with only 43 students, now boasts of a 4000 strong roll strength. More than 90% of the students of the college belong to SC, ST, & OBC(A & B).
